Again Cricket On Bollywood Screen In This Summer

Hook Ya Crook (2009) is the up coming movie of John Abraham. Its the movie with cricket back drop. David Dhawan has directed this film. John Abraham and Genelia D'Souza are lead cast. This movie is going to hit the theaters on March 19th 2010.

In 2009 all the cricket back drop movies like Dil Bole Hadippa, Victory and World Cupp 2011 were failed utterly to do well at the Box Office. Hope that, Hook Yaa Crook will give the positive result. The story of this movie revolves around Viraj (John Abraham) who is imprisoned. But he is very passionate about cricket. His dream is entering into Indian Cricket Team. How he has managed to over come his problems to achieve his goal is the story.

Shreyas talpade and Amrita Rao were played other lead roles.

World Cupp 2011

Emraan Hashmi starred Jannat became super duper hit in 2008. Cricket betting and match fixings are the back drops to that movie. Emraan Hashmi has appeared as a bookie. That movie gave huge profits to producer.

With that movie inspiration, Ravi Chopra has made a movie called World Cupp 2011 with same match fixing back drop. This movie is going to hit the theaters on December 25th 2011.

Indian cricket team captain Ravi Indulkar (Ravi Chopra) and his teammates involves in match fixing. A journalist called Balakrishna notices this. BCCI chairman (Prem Chopra) bans Ravi and other players Irfan, Harvinder and Rajpal who also part in this illegal act.

Ravi's girl friend Soha leaves him. Ravi proves himself again and enters into Indian team for 2011 world cup. A bokiee called Shobhan (Zakir Hussain) meets Ravi to fix the match. Ravi refuses to do it. Shobhan kidnaps Soha. How Ravi protected Soha is the remaining story.

Suresh Oberoi is going to appear as Indian team coach. Kashmira Shah will feature as an item girl.

Who Is Zoya

The Zoya Factor novel has created the sensations in India. Anuja Chauhan has penned this novel. With only this novel she became very famous in all over India. Story revolves around 2011 Cricket World Cup.

Recently Shahrukh Khan has announced a movie based on this novel on his own banner Red Chillies Entertainment. With this news once again Anuja Chauhan's name once again making rounds. Shahrukh Khan's well wisher Vishal Punjabi will direct this movie.

The Zoya Factor is the famous novel narrated by Anuja Chauhan. Shahrukh Khan impressed very much with the novel is planning to make movie based on this novel. Reema Kagti is narrating script for this movie based on this novel.

Vishal Punjabi is going to made as director with this prestigious film. SRK will planning to start this movie by the early 2010. He will produce this movie on his Red Chillies Entertainment.

Jannat

Jannat is a Bollywood movie produced by Mahesh Bhatt under his Vishesh Films. Kunal Deshmukh made his Bollywood debut as director with this movie. This movie has shown the negative sides of cricket matches.

Arjun (Emraan Hashmi) is an easy going guy who has no interest to do hard work. He always searches for the shortcuts to earn money. One day he meets a beautiful girl Zoya (Sonal Chauhan) and falls to her charming personality. He then plans to become rich person with in short period Zoya.

He becomes a bookie on cricket matches. Later he becomes a match fixer. He becomes a notable person in mafia circles and police records also. While every thing going according to his plans, he faces some problems. Now he has to choose either love or career as match fixer.

Mean while police suspects that he killed a coach. They starts searching for Arjun. How he proved his innocence is the remaining story.

Kangana Ranaut was first choice for the Zoya role but she was opted out later.

42 Kms

42 Kms was Bollywood movie in 2009, Nisha Chainani has directed this movie. Mandira Bedi has played a key role in this movie. After Meera Bhai Not Out its the movie from Mandira bedi.

Movie utterly failed to meet the expectations. Story revolves around five people who have their own problems in the life. Why all these people are participating in this Marathon and what happens at the end of the race is the story.

Sameer Dattani, Purab Kohli and Bikram Saluja are the other lead cast in this movie. Pre-release this movie raised lots of hopes because of the marathon concept.

Director has opted very good story line but failed to give proper screenplay to it.

Dil Bole Hadippa

Dil Bole Hadippa is upcoming movie from Yash Raj Films. Its a triangle love story with cricket back drop. Rani Mukerji, Sherlyn Chopra and Shahid Kapoor played the lead roles in this movie. Anurag Singh is the director.

Rani Mukerji is going to appear as cricketer who has lot of thirst about cricket. She joins in men cricket team with boy getup to prove that, women also plays cricket equally with men. Shahid Kapoor is going to appear as cricket team captain who is in deep love with a model (Sherlyn).


Yash Chopra is going to made a guest appearance and Poonam Dhillon is going to appear in key role. This first major project for hot girl Sherlyn Chopra.

Hook Ya Crook

Hook Ya Crook was Bollywood comedy thriller based on cricket. John Abraham playing the lead role. David Dhavan is the director for this movie. This movie is set to release by September 2009.



Viraj Pradhan (John Abraham) has lots of dreams about his career. He is very talented cricket player, his goal is entering into Indian cricket team. But due to the situations, he goes to jail. How this guy achieved his from prison is the story.



Genelia D' souza is going to pair opposite John in this movie. Cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni has small role. Kay Kay Menon, Uday Chopra and Siddharth are the other lead cast.

Sikandar

Sikandar is an upcoming Bollywood movie. Parzan Dastur and Ayesha Kapoor are going to appear in lead roles in this movie. Sanjay Suri and Madhavan are the other important crew. Story is based on a child who loves Football.

Sikandar Raza (Parzan Dastur) is a school going boy enjoys playing football. His only dream is to become a star footbal player. New student to that school Nasreen (Ayesha Kapoor) becomes a close freind to Sikander.

Race

Race was a movie about rivalry between two brothers, but the movie has some interesting Race scenes. Movie Starts with a horse race and ends with a car race. Abbas -Mustan duo has directed this movie, they has adopted this story from a Hollywood movie Goodbye Lover.



But they used a different screenplay with unexpected and surprising twists. Saif Ali Khan and Bipasha Basu paired opposite each other in this movie. Katrina Kaif for first time appeared in a negative role, she has paired opposite Akshaye Khanna. Car race at the end of the movie was pictured very brilliantly. The Horse race scenes gives the feel of Hollywood movie to us.


Anil Kapoor and Sameera Reddy played detectives roles. But this two characters raised lots of laughs in theaters. Present Abbas-Mustan are narrating script for Race-2 sequel of Race movie. Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan are going to play key roles in that movie.

Ghulam

Ghulam was Aamir Khan's movie in 1998, it was directed by Vikram Bhatt. Aamir Khan made his debut as play back singer with the song Kya Bolti Tum in this movie. Rani Mukerji paired opposite Aamir Khan in this movie.


Ghulam story revolves around Siddharth (Aamir Khan) who works with a gangster Ronnie (Sharat Saxena). Siddharth is also a good boxer but never concentrates on it. When he meets Alisha (Rani Mukerji), he decides to come out from Ronnie. But he losses his only brother Jai (Rajit Kapoor) because of Ronnie. How he defeated Ronnie and his men and how he won his target is the remaining movie.

Mafia concept and patriotism concept dominates the Boxing back drop. But Aamir Khan took lot of care about boxing matches also, he specially trained to build body like boxer.

Aryan

Aryan was 2006 Bollywood movie with Boxing back drop. Abhishek Kapoor made his debut as director with this movie. Sohail Khan and Sneha Ullal were paired opposite each other in this movie.Puneet Issar appeared in an important role

Aryan (Sohail Khan) is a poor orphan guy over comes all the problems in his way and becomes a boxing champion. Neha (Sneha Ullal) a rich girl falls for Aryan. Neha always encourages him for his career. When he comes to know about Neha's pregnancy because of him, he gives up to boxing. Later he joins in a job in a sports academy and Neha also finds a job.

Again tragedy strikes into Aryan's life, he looses his job and his wife leaves him. He again starts boxing practice and targets on national champion ship.

Kapil Dev and Fardeen Khan gave special appearances in this movie.

Iqbal

Iqbal is one best sports based Bollywood movie. Shreyas Talpade noticed all Bollywood people with this movie only. Nagesh Kukunoor was the director for this movie, first film for Subhash Ghai's new production house.


Iqbal (Shreyas Talpade) has a passion about cricket. But his father discourages him and forces him to take care about the crops. With help of his sister Khadija (Shwetha Prasad) he practices daily in Guruji (Girish Karnad)'s camp. To encourage a rich guy Kamal, Guruji throws Iqbal out from academy. With help of Mohit (Naseeruddin Shah) Iqbal gets place in Andhra Ranji Cricket team. He shows his talent and gets place in Indian Cricket Team.

Kapil Dev gave a cameo appearance in this movie. Unlike other cricket based movies, Nagesh Kukunoor made this movie in very low budget, but received good success.

All Rounder

All Rounder is a cricket based film in 1986. If we watch this movie we feel this was the inspiration for Harman Baweja's Victory. Troubles in an upcoming cricketer's life is the main story line for this movie. Director Mohan added a brother sentiment also to the movie. Rati Agnihotri played the female lead in All Rounder.



Ajay (Kumar Gaurav) is a very big fan of cricket and he has good talent also in cricket. His brother Birju (Raju Desai) dreams about making him a player in the Indian Cricket team. Ajay works hard towards his goal. On his way he meets many rivals. Vikram (Shakti Kapoor) hates Ajay very much. One day Vikram makes Ajay drink. Drunken Ajay creates some nuisance and due to this he loses his place in the team and selectors say that he is not eligible to play any type of cricket in India.


How he overcomes and again gets the place in the team and how he convinces his girlfriend and his brother is the remaining story.

Chamatkar

Chamatkar is Shah Rukh Khan's movie in 1991. This is a fantasy movie but involves cricket. Naseeruddin Shah played the role as a ghost which helps the hero in many situations. This is Urmila Matondkar's first commercial success.




Sunder Srivastava (Shah Rukh Khan) is a villager who has a dream to built schools for poor children. For required money he plans to send his friend to Dubai. When he arrives to Mumbai to meet his friend Prem he loses ihis luggage and money in the railway station.




When he goes to a old church there, because of him a ghost is released from it's tomb. Ghost tells Sunder that he can help him in any way to fulfill his needs. Sunder allows the ghost Marco to be with him. With help of Marco, Sunder wins a cricket match and gets a huge amount of money.

The second half of the movie mostly revolves around cricket. At the climax Marco leaves for heaven.

Fight Club - Members Only

Fight Club movie is based on the Brad Pitt starrer Fight Club. This movie was directed by Vikram Chopra. He proved once again he is not able to remake a movie properly. In Hollywood this is an out and out action movie.



But Vikram and writer Sohail Khan changed its script completely and added some family drama and sentiment scenes. This made movie to become a disaster at the Box Office.
The people who like action movie were also not interested on this movie. This movie revolves around illegal fights in under ground.

This movie had many iron legs like Zayed khan, Ritesh Deshmukh, Diya Mirza, Ashmit Patel and Dino Moria. Sunil Shetty, Amrita Arora and Aashish Caudhary are the other crew in this movie. Neha Dupia made a cameo appearance.

Bend It Like Beckham

Bend It Like Beckham is a football based movie, about a girl Jess who want to become a star football player like England football player Beckham. This is a British movie which was directed and by Indian directer Gurinder Chadda. This movie did a good job in England, U.S.A and India.




Jess (Parminder Nagra) is an NRI. Her parents work in Heathrow Airport. They want her to become a doctor. But she always dreams to get a star tatus as a football player. She practices football in a park regularly with her friend Jules (Keira Knightley). She says to her parents that she lost interest in football.



But her father finds out she is playing football secretly. She leaves on the day of her sister's marriage. She impresses the selectors with her performance. She gets an offer from an university in U.S.A. While she is travelling to U.S.A Beckham reaches that place to go somewhere with his wife Victoria.



Bollywood actor Anupam Kher played the role as Jess' father. This movie's success in India made Gurinder Chadda very famous. Her next film Bride And Prejudice starring Aishwarya Rai was released in India.

Awwal Number

Aamir Khan is very much interested about cricket. He is also the best friend for Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. He acted in some cricket based movies like Lagaan, all of them were became super hits and critically also received good response.



Awwa Number is also based on cricket. In this film he featured as an Indian Cricket team upcoming player. Dev Anand played a major role for this movie. His character features more powerfully than Aamir Khan's character. He only took the direction and production responsibilities.




Match revolves around a test series between India and Australia. Ronnie (Aditya Pancholi) loses place in team because of his very bad performance. He contacts terrorists to kill Sunny (Aamir Khan) who entered into the team instead of Ronnie. Terrorists' plan utilise this opportunity, by the blast of stadium they want to create problems in India. Finally Vijay (Dev Anand) overcomes all the problems and conducts test match in the same stadium.





Tight screenplay and curious scenes made this Awwal Number a super duper hit. Bappi Lahiri's music was also well noticed by audience. Aftab Shivdasani has appeared as a child artist.

Hattrick

With the title Hattrick we feels this is an out and out sports based film about Indian cricket. But the movies is a complete family entertainer. Saurabh Shukla who is well known with his supporting and negative roles narrated dialogues in this movie. Rajat Arora penned the script.




Satyajit (Nana Patekar) is a very rude natured doctor. Because lack of proper happiness in his life he misbehaves with his patients. Saby (Kunal Kapoor) and Kashmira (Rimi Sen) are a young couple who married recently. Saby love cricket very much but Kashmira don,t know properly about cricket.




She suffers with loneliness while Saby enjoying by watching cricket. Another important character in this movie is Heme who works in London. Hemu (Paresh Rawal) has a goal in his life. How this people own their lives is the story.




Cricket commenter Harsha Bogle, and John Abraham played guest roles in this movie. Milan Luthria who directed Chori Chori and Taxi No 9211 directed this movie.

Apne

Anil Sharma who gave blockbuster hit Gadar Ek Prem Katha directed Apne. This movie is a touching family story with boxing backdrop. Dharmendra and his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol were featured in their real life characters only. Barbie Doll Katrina Kaif and Shilpa Shetty played female leads.



Baldev Chaudhary (Dharmendra) was a boxer. He has some dark marks on his professional career. He wants to remove those marks by making his son Angad (Sunny Deol) as a boxing champion. But due to some problems Angad stays away from boxing. Baldev's younger son Karan takes this responsiblity on to his shoulders. He tries to make his father's dream come true. But at the last step he faces some difficulties because of opponents tricks. Then his brother Angad enters into the scene.






This movie created records out of the country also and became a block buster hit. Anil Sharma gave a very good screenplay to this movie. This movie became a good hit but lots of mistakes are there. Particularly Bobby Deol's action was not good. Kabir Lal's camera work gave lavish look to film. Himesh Reshmiya gave Hollywood style background music.
