Boxer





Boxer is a Bollywood film which is scripted in the drama genre. Directed by Raj N. Sippy. Mithun Chakraborty played the lead role in this movie. The story revolves around boxing and father and son sentiments too.

Dharma is a worker in Kashmir Silk Mills and he is also a boxer. The managing director of the silk mills is very impressed about his talent. And encourages him and asks him to defeat Shera. If he wins the bout means he will send him to London. But Dharma loses the match. M.D fires him and removes him from the job.

He gets addicted to alcohol and ignores his wife and son Shankar. For family needs Shankar starts stealing. Shankar grows and becomes a big thief. On one robbery case he goes to jail. There he meets a boxing coach Tony. After releasing from jail Tony trains him and sends him to play opposite a champion Raghu Raj. But he loses the match and promises to his girlfriend Rajni that he will never enter into boxing. But his father Shankar convinces him and again sends him to the boxing ring.

Mithun Chakraborty is very good in his character. Rati Agnihotri and Tanuja played the female leads. Sharat Saxena and Guru Bachchan Singh appeared as boxers Raghu Raj and Shera. Parikshat Shani featured in the character Tony. R.D.Burman composed background score very well. And art direction was also good from Verman Shetty.R.
