Indian cricket is always a hot concept for Bollywood directors. So many good movies came on cricket.
Say Salaam India is one among them. Actor Subhash Kapoor whom we saw in Aamir Khan's Ishq made his debut as a director. No one expected he will give this type of good output.

Say Salaam India is about four guys and a coach. Royal Heritage is a famous school where wealthy students study. This school management appoints Hari Sadu (Sanjay Suri) as their cricket coach to win their 6th championship.

The students in the school are interested about cricket but there is no discipline. He faces many problems with that team and dislikes their behaviour. Finally school management replaces coach position with Harry Oberoi (Milind Soman).

Hari Sadu reaches a corporation school where the students like cricket very much. But their P.E.T (Manoj Pahwa) always hates cricket. After facing many problems Hari Sadu starts training the corporation school students.

He plays a key role in this school's victory in the inter school cricket champion ship by winning the final match on Royal Heritage School.

This is a very good movie, a very good story and screen play. But did poor run at box office. Director did not take the proper cast. The movie did not receive good publicity and was released in a bad season.

Sanjay Suri and Milind Soman both played the coach characters well. Sandhya Mridul in the character of Sonali is very good. Music director Gaurav Dayaal gave music to match mood. Camera work from Fasaahat is really good.

Ta Ra Rum Pum

Our Bollywood movie which are based on sports always involves some sentiments and affections. In Ta Ra Rum Pum movie, the director gave priority for a husband and wife relationship. Siddharth Anand who directed the movie like Bachna Ae Haseeno and Salam Namaste directed this movie also. Car Races in U.S.A are the back drop for this movie.

Rajvir Singh (Saif Ali Khan) is a guy who has a mad interest on car racing. One day he meets a girl Radhika Shekhar Roy Benerjee (Rani Mukerji) and falls for that girl. He marries her going against her parents. Rajveer wins his first race and becomes very famous.

Radhika gives birth to two children. While every thing is going happily Rajveer meets with an accident. This sends their family into troubles. To hide their financial problems from their children they lie. Radhika starts working to earn food for their family. Later Rajveer starts to ovecome all the problems and starts his career.

Saif and Rani characterization will move in different shades. Their look and body language as American citizens is good. Christina Barth, Linda Jean Marlowe and Sharmishta Roy are the art directors for this movie.


These people did a really excellent job in every frame of this movie. Vishal- Shekhar's music is a big asset for this film. We have to appreciate Aditya Chopra's terrific nature for encouraging variety in subjects like this.

Meera Bhai Not Out

Meera Bhai Not Out is a Bollywood movie about a cricket fan. Mandira Bedi who became popular with cricket anchoring played the lead role. Mahesh Manjrekar, Eijaz Khan and Anupam Kher were the rest of the lead cast. Indian star spinner Anil Kumble featured for few minutes in the movie.



The story is about a girl who has a mad craze about cricket. She even goes to a cricket match on her engagement day. This is a very good concept but director Chandrakant Kulkarni failed to implement well.



Most of the movie revolves around a love story only. He announced this as a cricket based movie but kept cricket as a side track. Mandira Bedi did her best.



Not only in Meera Bhai Not Out but in some other movies also like Victory they are just pulling cricket into the side track, leading to the movie failure.


In the case of Aamir Khan's Lagaan all the reasons leads to highlight cricket. Ashutosh Gowarikar mostly concentrated to establish this portions only.

Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii

Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii is another movie which was based on the Indian Cricket team. Director Kittu Saluja mixed some fantasy to the cricket concept. Rahul Bose is the only well known personality in this movie. All the remaining crew are new faces to Bollywood.



Karan (Zain Khan) is an orphan boy who lives in an orphanage. He always dreams to get parents and to enter the Indian Cricket team. One day he finds a magical bat. With the help of his magical bat he creates wonders. And enters into the Indian Cricket team. There also he continues his miracles. There he builts a strong bond with Varun (Rahul Bose). At last Varun adopts Karan.



Kapil Dev gave a cameo appearance in this film as himself. This movie title was adopted from Amitabh Bachchan's dialogue in Satte Pe Satta. Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii released just one month before to Shah Rukh Khan's Chak De.

Hip Hip Hurray

Prakash Jha who is directing the film Rajniti with Katrina, Ajay Devgan, Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Rampal is very famous with his documentaries in the1980's. He started making commercial movies with Hip Hip Hurray. This is a sports based movie. Director took football as the main concept and added touching scenes to it.


Sandeep (Raj Kiran) is an electronics engineer attends for an interview in Mumbai. Selectors asks him to wait for a few days for result. In that vacation he joins in a school as a physical trainer on his uncle's suggestion where he observes undisciplined boys.

Deepti Naval
The school football team always loses the matches with the neighboring school. Sandeep challenges with another school physical trainer (Shafi Ahmed). No one in the school supports him except his colleague (Deepti Naval). He receives an offer letter from the computer firm but he sticks with the team. He wins his challenge by changing the student's attitude.
Prakash Jha

Director passed the message "We must give priority for sports also with education" with this film. Director got good performance from every actor. After this movie only Jha got an identity in Bollywood.

Akshay As Milkha Singh

Akshay Kumar is one of the Bollywood hero who has very good body. His athletic body well suits for action movies and sports based movies. But mostly this guy opts comedy movies and family dramas. Present he is acting in cricket based movie called Patiala House.

Nikhil Advani is the director to this movie. Anushka Sharma is the heroine. This movie shooting is going in famous cricket stadiums like Lords. Akki's fans are very curious about this movie. They are very happy to see their favorite hero as cricketer.

Here is another reason for them to celebrate. He recently accepted movie which is also sports based. In that movie he is going to appear as Milkha Singh. We know that, Milkha Singh is one of the famous Indian athlete. Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra fame of Range De Basanti and Delhi 6 will direct this movie. This movie will hit the sets by the end of this summer.

Lahore

Lahore is the upcoming Bollywood movie. This movie is going to hit the theaters on March 19th. Its movie based on Kick Boxing between India and Pakistan. Sanjay Chauhan is the director to this movie.

Shraddha Das who has acted in many Tollywood movies is the heroines in this movie. Mukesh Rishi, Shushant Singh, Ashish Vidhyarthi, Kelly Dorzi and Sharabh Shukla are the lead cast to this movie. Director is going to highlight the sports spirit concept. And also heart touching sentiment is included.

We have seen already the success range of the Boxing based movies like Boxer and Apne. Hope that Lahore will also bag good profits at the BO.

Akshay Kumar's Movie In England Cricket Stadiums

Akshay Kumar is going to appear as cricketer for the movie called Patiala House. Present this movie shooting is going in England. Present Mikhil Advani is shooting the cricket match scenes in Oval and lords stadiums.

Pakistan cricketers Imran Khan and Wasim Akram are also part in the movie cast. Anushka Sharma is the heroine in this movie. Bobby jodi Dimple Kapadia and Rishi Kapoor are the other lead cast.

Movie makers not revealed any thing about the story. Nikil Advani and Akshay Kumar were delivered flop movie Chandni Chowk To China last time. Hope that this time they will come up with a big hit.

What Happen To Zoya Factor ?

The Zoya Factor is the novel written by Anuja Chauhan. Shahrukh Khan has impressed a lot by this novel concept and decided to make it as a movie. Concept revolves 2011 cricket world cup matches and around a girl called Zoya who loves cricket very much.

Shahrukh Khan has announced that, he will produce this movie under his own banner Red Chillies Entertainments and also plays a key role. But till date it hasn't hit the sets. SRK is busy with the action thriller Farhan Akhtar's Don2 and Anubhav Sinha's RA-1.

For RA-1 he is only the producer. He is going to spend 100 crores on this movie. May be because of that high budget only he has postponed Zoya Factor.

Striker

Striker is a latest Bollywood movie. Siddharth Narayan has played the lead role in this movie. This movie introduced Padmapriya to Bollywood. This movie based on the carroms game. It was released on february 5th. Due to the week screenplay movie failed to live well at the Box Office.

Story revolves around Surya, who learn caroms in childhood only and won caroms jr champion ship. This caroms champion decides to fly to Dubai to settle down in the life. Mean while the tragedy strikes and change his life. What are the difficulties he faced on his way is the story. How he returned back to caroms game is interesting in the movie.

Chandan Arora has directed this movie Anupam Kher, Ankur Vikal and Seema Biswas were appeared in other prominent roles.

Teen Patti

Sports movies has very good priority in Bollywood movies.Boxing and Cricket (Lagaan (2001), Awwal Number, Victory and Chakmatkar etc) based movies gained super success on Bollywood screen. Later the games like Hockey (Chak De) and Football (Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal) also touched the silver screen.

Now the indore games became super subject. Up coming movie Teen Patti (2010) is the best example to this. This movie has the game poker as back drop. Most of the story is going to revolve around this poker game only.

99 (2009) was a super hit Bollywood movie in 2009. This movie revolves around cricket betting. Kunal Khemu and Soha Ali Khan were appeared in the lead roles. The movie was set in the time period 1999-2000. The situations that time period was also, helped to this movie story narration very well. 1999 marked the starting for mobile revolution in India. In the same period Indian Cricket faced very bad time because of Match fixing and betting.

How Sachin and Zaramud recovered the money and who is Pooja actually is rest of the story.

Vinod Khanna has appeared in an important role. Simone Singh played the role of Rahuls' wife Jahnavi.
